Loren and I without the kidos....

This summer Loren and I finally got to go to Alaska! Ster and Char met us there, and we stayed with our dear friends; Ron and Jane Carmichael. They have a Beautiful log home that sits right on the Kenai River in Sterling, Alaska. They took such good care of us, it was like staying at an all-inclusive resort. Our first day was the warmest it got to about 70 degrees, it was beautiful and we all caught a bunch of "reds" salmon, and I now understand why people love to fish! It is addictive, you just know that your next cast will be another big fish! It was soo relaxing, and we had the most beautiful scenery all around us. We went on all kinds of adventures, the boys went fishing in the ocean for king salmon, and halibut,YUMMY. Jane treated Char and I to pedicures and lunch, we had so much fun. The best thing for me was just hanging out with great friends; telling stories, eating incredible food(thanks to Jane and Sterling), and fishin in the dark! well it didn't get dark untill the wee hours of the morn. We laughed soo much, it was fantastic! On one of the last days there, we went to Seward and had a cruise on the ocean, it was freeezing I had 6 layers on top and 3 on the bottom, but it was beautiful to see the wildlife and the glaciers. We stopped at an Island that's beach was made up of millions of shiny black skipping stones where we had a seafood dinner of course. Our children were at home with Uncle Matt, Aunt Jen, and the girlies, it made our trip, to know our kids were well takin care of. Once again we are soo blessed with family, and to have such incredible friends whom we love.

Some things we did this year

These are some of the things we did this year; some as a family, some as a couple, and some by myself.(well with girlfreinds). First we all went & stayed at Bryon and JoAnna's Carlsbad home, {Thank you, thank you, we love the Yoder's.} We went down to the beach where it was beautful and freezing, but that didn't keep us from getting wet... Loren and I feel soo blessed with our family, our kids are terrific. It was so nice to see that our children not only love each other, but they enjoy being together, seeing Charlee and Steph acting like girlfriends was a pleasant glimpse into the future. We also went to Disneyland and California adventure, of course Emmi, Brooki, and Porter loved it. We were able to ride most of the rides as a family. Our top favorites were Pirates, Thunder montain railroad, and our most fav; Space Mountain. Porter, although "broccoli" was fearless! (broccoli is code for little)
