New news...

You need to "click" on this pic to see it all.

This is between the first and second Hospital, some of his many friends helping.

A little good news that is... I just got a message from Daren, Barton's wonderful Brother, he and my Aunt Carla got to Africa safely, and are with him now. He said they had a tearful reunion and that they are working as fast as possible to get him to the State's (he will not be able to heal there, the things are) hopefully by Sunday! That would be great....
This morning one of his nurses brought in a computer, and Barton sent me a message, he says he is OK, but wants to get back here, and is very touched by all of the support. I wish I had a way to see him in NYC when he gets there, at least he will finally have the care he needs. Hooray, I don't want to celebrate prematurely, but this is good news.

Update on Barton...

Here is the BLOG of an American nurse who was there the first day for Barton..A great Lady.

This is one of my favorite Model pictures of him... Gorgeous and Generous...

He is not out of the woods yet, his injuries are traumatic, and causing him a great deal of pain; his left leg has a severed shin muscle, femur bone is broken in half, with a deep open wound on the back of his leg. His right shoulder bone is fractured, his wrist and elbow are both broken on left arm, he has head lacerations and a fever as well. He is on antibiotics, and pain meds, but is still in a lot of pain, he just wants to get back home. He has been told about all the support and prayers on his behalf, and is very grateful. He had medivac insurance, but it expired last month, it is VERY expensive to pay for, and if you know anything about this amazing guy then you know that every penny he has, goes to the people he is helping. His Brother is trying to get there in the next few days, and will accompany him to New York, hopefully by the 26th, where a great Trauma Surgeon ( Chief of Trauma) awaits his arrival. He just needs to get rid of that fever... Prayers PLEASE.

I will keep you posted.

Barton Brooks a beautiful person inside and out...

These are some of the lives he has touched...

I have written posts about Barton before, but it was to recognize the selfless work that he does, this time it is for the Man himself... He was in a motorcycle accident in Uganda 2 days ago, he suffered a badly broken arm and leg, and other head contusions, they think he is going to be ok, although it is sketchy because of where he is. He already had 1 surgery and he will have 2 more today, he has been airlifted to a better hospital, and Surgeon. So please keep him in your prayers, so he can recover quickly and get back to his important work with Global Colors, the organization that he started. Barton is my family, but more importantly he is my dear friend he loves me, and tells me that every time I talk to him. When we were kids I would share secrets with him and he always listened to my stuff, he has a huge heart and is trying to do his part to make the world a better place... If you would like to help him, please check out his website! Or blog; 52 weeks.

So Long Fancy Nancy....

Well it looks like the time has finally come, our good friends are moving to Northern Utah... I just wanted Nancy to know how much I will miss her and how lucky I feel to have had this time to become friends with her and her Family.. Porter will sorely miss his Buddy Dallas! They love each other, they have been a great team on the Soccer field and in the living room playing video games, and all things "little boy".

Nancy has a very "Martha" way of doing things, she's a great baker, and seamstress, not to mention her Jewelery creating abilities. Nanc you are a Beautiful girl inside and out! You are one of the most thoughtful people I know, I will miss you. Thank goodness for modern technology, for we will always have the blog, and I'm sure we will see each other at least once a year. Thank you for everything you've taught me, I love you....

Our Brown Eyed Girl....

Brookie, our 1 and only brown eyed girl, was STUDENT of the MONTH! Hooray, she was very happy for herself and we were not surprised in the least, she is soo smart! Her Teacher went on about how helpful she is in class, and how kind she is to everyone, and she told me that she stays out of all the "girl drama" (didn't realize there was drama in 2nd grade) never the less she avoids anything negative at school! Ms. B said she is a JOY to have around, which is highly appropriate; Joy is her middle name...So Way to go girl, our beautiful brown eyed smarty pants, we love you!
